Privacy Policy
What we collect
Gold by the Pound does not have accounts, forms, a newsletter or comments. You never need to register or give us any personal information to use any page or tool. We do not sell personal information, and we have none to sell.
Calculator inputs stay in your browser
Budgets, prices and quantities you enter into our "how much gold can I buy" and premium calculators are processed entirely in your own browser. They are not transmitted to us, not stored on our servers, and not logged. We never see your budget or what you were quoted.
Live price checks
On pages that show a live price, your browser may re-check the gold spot price from our data provider, gold-api.com, while the page is open. That request carries no personal information beyond what any web request carries (such as your IP address), and it is handled under gold-api.com's own policies. The site's other prices are fetched by our build process, not by your browser.
Affiliate links (Goldco)
The green buttons on this site, and the button in the exit pop-up, are advertising links to Goldco.
They pass through a tracking address (mai2vm7u.com) and carry a parameter
(sub1=goldbythepound, or sub1=goldbythepoundpopup from the pop-up) that
identifies this site as the referrer, so that we can be credited if you become a customer.
This costs you nothing.
The link opens a Goldco page with a request form for its free kit. Anything you type into that form goes to Goldco, not to us, and is handled under Goldco's own privacy policy, including any cookies its site sets. By submitting that form you agree that Goldco may contact you by phone, text message and email; the form itself states the terms. We never receive your details. See our full disclosure.
Fonts
The Inter and Playfair Display typefaces are served from this website itself. Loading a page does not send any request to Google Fonts or any other font service.
The exit pop-up
Some visitors see a pop-up offer for Goldco when they move to leave a page (or, on phones, after about 30 seconds). It is shown at most once per browser session. To remember that it has been shown, the page stores a single flag in your browser's sessionStorage. It contains no personal information, is never sent to us, is not a cookie, and is deleted automatically when you close the tab or browser.
Hosting and logs
The site is served by Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, pages requested and browser type) for security and operations, under Vercel's privacy policy.
Cookies and analytics
This site does not set cookies of its own and does not currently run an analytics service. If that changes, this page will name the provider first, and where the law requires consent for cookies we will ask for it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, including California (CCPA/CPRA) and the EU/UK (GDPR), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data held about you. Because we hold no accounts, profiles or messages, there is nothing on our side to access or delete. Standard hosting logs are kept and deleted by our hosting provider under its own policy, and requests about them are handled under that policy. Requests about details you gave to Goldco go to Goldco.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
